Women and girls around the world are refused access to education and political participation.
Many are married as children or trafficked into forced labor or sex slavery. Women and girls represent the greater share of total forced labour – 11.4 million victims.
They represent 98% of sexual exploitation forced labour market & account for about 75 per cent of all trafficking victims.
In Australia, about 2 in 3 women report experiencing at least one incident of physical or sexual violence over their lifetime and every week one women dies from domestic violence.
