We, the undersigned, believe that when so many families in our neighborhoods are facing the threat of foreclosure during a mortgage crisis brought on in part by predatory lenders, homeowners’ pain should not be made worse by higher property taxes while home values are going down. We support Silvana Tabares, Candidate for State Representative of the 21st District, in her efforts to help prevent skyrocketing property taxes on homeowners and join her in support of legislation that would prohibit increases in property taxes without voters’ approval when home values decline.
