Shelley | Thomas | TX | US | My son drowned in our backyard pool on April 12 2003. We were renting a house and the homeowner refused to put up barriers. We were in the process of pricing these on our own money when this tragedy happened.

| 118 | Amanda | Hobson | FL | US | I think this is a must have law to keep our xhildern safe. If people can afford the upkeep of a pool they can afford the safety measures to keep it safe.
My heart and prayers go out to all that have lost childern to pool drowning. |

sharon | tapper | MN | US | If a person can afford a pool, it should be a law that they have an alarm and fence. What a loss to all of us that have lost a child.
Moira | Alexander | AZ | US | Please, most children drown under parent supervision!
Deanna | Purcell | IL | US |
Lori | Provins | FL | US | It is of the UTMOST importance to have pools fenced & children safe.
Diane | Sevey | AZ | US | You know I am for this! As a parent who lost her world to a swimming pool, we all know no one is perfect and we need these extra measures in place to give us more time to get to our children and to make it harder for out little ones to get into trouble.
Maggie | Stephenson | ME | US | There are so many simple things people could do to protect our children and yet they STILL fail to do so! Barries, fences and covers SHOULD be mandatory and those who fail to use those safety measures SHOULD be held accountable for violating the law. I am behind you a 100%!
mark | stephenson | ME | US | Unfortunately, people with pools have more rights than innocent children. My nephew, Kevin William Stephenson, drowned in a police officers pool in misssouri 3-31-07. He was 3. Why are above ground ladders not required to raise automatically. Pool gates are required to close automatically? A police officer should know better. He says "I forgot to lock it up". Auto closers don't forget, that's the point.

Anonymous | Anonymous | AR | US | I think if you have a pool you should have to have a fence up!!!! I have a pool and we have a fence and we keep it locked up!!!! It just makes since to keep it locked up. Little kids don't know that they can get hurt they just know that it is fun to swim. I have two kids and they love to swim!!! It is just better to be safe than sorry!!!
