Debbie MyersThe details will work themselves out with time - this is a good thing for the neighborhood and the approval needs to be based upon that!
Don VaglicaI want to know why an improvement that benefits the neighborhood at no apparent cost to the neighborhood would be denied. My wife travels a long distance to a gym to be able to swim during the winter months.

Rebekah TreveliseI'm extremely disappointed in the information released regarding the reasons the board voted "no" against heating the pool. A child could jump the fence and drown whether the pool is heated or not. Residents who complain that they're being "refused entrance" when the pool is closed, but still being heated and covered with a tarp need to count their blessings. They will have access to a heated pool M-F at the stated times. The board members who consider this as a negative to a resident needs to re-think their argument here. This is a positive -- the pool is heated and residents will have access. Yes, there are hours that pool access is granted, just like their are pool hours during the summer. Resident access is actually INCREASED b/c the pool is actually heated and available for use. The alternative is for the Board to vote "no", and now NO ONE gets to use the pool b/c the pool is not heated! That's the negative: the board voting no, and now I don't get to swim at all during the winter. I don't understand why this issue is so confusing for so many people. It's simple: someone wants to heat the pool for the residents. Let them. Please don't let fear and confusion consume you. This is an extremely positive request and change for Steiner Ranch. Please reconsider, and vote "yes" in the heating of the pool. You will be amazed at how many active adults and triathletes will utilize this, not to mention our own Steiner Ranch children!! This is driven by Steiner Ranch residents themselves. Please listen to them.

Marilyn ParliIt is unfair to have the board making major decisions like this without not only asking the residents for their input, but give us the CORRECT information regarding the proposal, offer forums, give reasonable amount of time for matter to be discussed and voted upon. The way is was handled was unjust.

Michele HartThis seems like the right thing to do!
Martine HillmanMany of the homeowners were under the impression that the smaller recreational pools would not be accessable and that is why they voted "no" to the original proposal. It needs to be clearly stated that those pools will be open.

Jeff ConnellA heated pool is an asset to the entire community not just a "special interest group" - who happens to be comprised of all steiner residents.

Britt GoodmanI think the board made a huge mistake and is falling into the trap that many governing and management bodies do these days, which is basing decisions on fear and liability instead of focusing on opportunities, reward, and long term impact. I don’t know of any positive thing for the community (or anything else for that matter) that does not bring along some risk and potential downside for a few. I think the board should ask themselves these questions: Would a summer swim program be approved if Steiner did not already have one established? After all, access to the Bella Mar facility would be restricted during the week for the entire summer and the entire facility would be unavailable to residents every other Saturday. What about the traffic during meets and nuisance noise that the residents who live near the facility have to deal with? Overall I think you would have a lot of people who would not want the summer swim team program and the board would come to the conclusion that the only people benefiting are the “kids”. I won’t even go into what a narrow minded view that is, since anyone with a little common sense can figure it out. Would the board approve a donated swim facility if Steiner did not already have one? After all, it is risk and cost and some residents don’t even swim and therefore don’t want to pay to maintain it. Maybe the board should just ask the developer to take the donated facilities back and fill them in with dirt since it would greatly reduce liability. The point is that the board would miss these obviously huge and well received opportunities if they evaluated them with the logic they are using for the winter aquatics proposal. There may very well be some valid concerns and misunderstandings with the proposal, but the board should ask for clarification and compromise instead of just shooting it down out of fear and a few opposing viewpoints. The board is really doing a great disservice to the community at this point. This is an opportunity to better the community in many ways and their response so far is extremely disappointing.
AnonymousWe should support the opportunity for your kids and family to swim year round in Steiner Ranch pools. It is a waste to have the pools sitting half the year with no opportunity to use.
Greg HydeThere is no reason why this swim team should not be allowed to use this facility during these months. I think they have a very well thought out plan and solution for allowing Steiner Residents access and use in what would otherwise be completely unused times. If this is not passed, I as a resident demand to know why not!! I don't even have a child that would be participating and I am outraged that the proposal was turned down. Maybe the next thing we need to do is change the board to actual Steiner Ranch residents and not paid Taylor Woodrow employees???

Laura SchmuelgenWhen I originally read the first survey and the conditions of the agreement it caused me to think twice about supporting it. When I thought about it, I realized that without a heater, this pool probably gets very little use anyway. Those who would use the pool unheated, still have two other great pool options. And, those who want to swim for fitness, now will have a heated environment. With this added feature, the community pool will potentially get MORE use from residents than it does now.

Andre StellingI agree with heating the pool. I would recommend an amendment to give access from Oct to April for the smaller plan pool and baby pool.
Ron and Robin HaleyWith a neighborhood as dedicated to fitness as Steiner Ranch is, a heated pool seems like a no brainer.
