We support the September 7th 2010 global day of action for democracy in Swaziland, called by the Swaziland Democracy Campaign.
We support SDC's call for:
· the unbanning of political parties
· the unconditional return of all exiles
· free and democratic multi-party elections
· freedom of the media
· an independent judiciary
· an end to abuse of culture and women’s rights
We also call for the immediate scrapping of the Suppression of Terrorism Act, which makes it a terrorist offense to belong to certain parties and organisations.
We note that the people of Swaziland suffer the double burden of poverty and repression. We urge governments worldwide to take urgent steps to pressure and isolate the undemocratic Swazi regime.
The feedback received from those endorsing this cause has been thoughtful and consistent. We remain in contact with international observers to ensure this pressure on the Swazi regime continues to grow.

So much suffering there while the rest of the world just looks away. Glad to see some action finally being taken.
