Comments: Student. I have not had problems with financial aid so far, but I fear the day that I might. It would be impossible for me to return to Swarthmore if their aid decreased drastically. I am sure that all of this news is not reassuring to lower-middle class and working class families. I think a response from the College and FAO concerning these subjects is necessary.

Comments: I have received financial aid during all of my four years at Swarthmore, and I have always felt that the financial aid office has gone above and beyond what is expected. However, I also believe that at a school with as much economic wealth as Swarthmore no student should ever have financial reasons prevent them from returning to the school that they love. Perhaps by changing the process we can prevent this from happening.

Comments: Even before coming to Swarthmore, I experienced frustration with the financial aid office. I believe that more transparency is absolutely necessary for Swarthmore to continue its commitment to cover need. Swarthmore, as a school known for its intellectuality, should create a culture of openness and reception. Thank you.
