Name: Juan R Santiago Jr on Nov 9, 2012Comments: New Jersey should do away with this law. We lose millions of dollars in taxes in Bergen County. Which could help in a positive way. How could a state that is in a financial difficulty afford not to get rid of this blue law.Flag

Name: Ann Lee on Nov 16, 2012Comments: By having the blue law in place Paramus is only losing money because residents are forced to shop in other towns. Except for Friday nights and Saturdays, I do not find any traffic in town. The Mayor just wants to make himself look good because he isn't doing anything else substancial. Many times my kids wishes to go to the mall on Sundays but are unable to. Trust me their are many residents in Paramus who opposes the Blue Law. The only difference is the people who want to keep the blue law have louder voices, then those who favors it. Also, residents can take the back roads to get to stores on Route 17 and 4. Having the Blue Law in place is ridicules in this day and age.Flag

Name: Joara on Dec 1, 2012Comments: Randy K / July 8, 2011In the United States laws regarding rfaelfs are decided upon by state governments just as other types of games of chance. In the United States raffle laws vary considerably by state. Some states define charitable rfaelfs as equal to lotteries and therefore have deemed them illegal. Other states allow rfaelfs for charities but do not have lotteries.Raffle License or ApplicationThe application for the raffle license may be required by the state, county or city government. Sometimes organizations must file with the state and local government so it is always wise to contact all government agencies. Most applications require a fee.Raffle RequirementsEach state also has different requirements about the organizations that are allowed to hold a raffle and the manner in which it is conducted. For example according to the laws of Colorado, the organization must have been in existence for five years before an application for a bingo/raffle license can be made. Some state raffle laws limit the number of rfaelfs that a tax-exempt organization can hold. Other states have other very specific laws about the value of prizes given away, the format of tickets and other aspects of the raffle.Advance Planning for RafflesNot for profit organizations should also keep in mind that some registering agencies require that permits be applied for in advance. For example in Iowa the department requests that applicants allow up to 30 days for processing the application.ReplyFlag
