Bergen County is the most populous county of the state of New Jersey. It is the only county in New Jersey to still enforce the Blue Laws. It is making our life cumbersome and hurting local businesses. For families where both parents are working, weekends are the only time to stock up and prepare for another week of hard work. Being limited to shop for essentials only on Saturdays is just mind blowing. It is time Bergen took a step into the 21st century and repeal the blue laws. Governor Chris Christie made a wonderful decision to suspend the Blue Laws temporarily and allowed residents hurt by Hurricane Sandy make the most of their weekends and recover faster.
