I am in the process of filing a 501c3 proposal that has been developed in response to the unmitigated demand for a job placement organization dedicated exclusively to the placement needs of young adults (between the ages of 15 and 21). The initial outreach, or "test site", is currently set for the North Fork of Long Island. The proposal has been structured to reflect an understanding of the immediate, unmet needs of three core audiences within most mainstream communities throughout the U.S.: the teen's/young adult's need for purpose and self-sustainability, the family/guardian's desire to ensure their teen's successful empowerment and direction, and the local/regional business owners' interest in hiring talented, reliable and committed employees [while also bringing intrinsic values, and good PR, to the communities they serve by hiring from within the community]. An outline of this proposal has been presented to target audiences in various communities within New York State, including teens, parents, business executives and potential program partners. It was met with widespread enthusiasm and a great deal of interest in voluntary support. It was also met with an astonishing level of immediate need. WHY DEVELOP SUCH AN ORGANIZATION It is imperative that we develop a program offering that goes beyond just telling our kids to "say no to drugs" or "just find any job", and actually provides a viable, attractive, purposeful alternative for our youth. How By offering them something that combats boredom, is peer acceptable, allows an escape from their perceived drudgery of everyday life, and exposes them at an early age to people and opportunities of interest to them, where substance abuse is neither prevalent nor rewarded and where best efforts are applauded. In short, today's youth need to be kept busy and given a purpose - they need JOBS! THE CRUX OF IT: We propose the formation of this 501c3 (name intentionally withheld) as the nation's first job placement organization exclusively for young adults. We further propose that this organization takes a leadership position in youth empowerment by serving as job placement specialists as follows: -Paid full and part-time job placement (full = 19+ hrs. weekly) - Internship program placement - Community service programs: *resume building / scholarship applications *alternative recompense for 1st strike youthful offenders (TBD) WHAT I NEED FROM YOU: I am in need of immediate support for this proposed program!
