Ocean Charter School children may need to find a new campus following the upcoming RFP (request for proposals) that the LAUSD Board intends to release in September regarding a long-term lease of 2 acres at the Walgrove Elementary School campus. Ocean Charter School has been co-located on this campus with Walgrove Elementary students for the past five years. Ocean Charter School would like to stay and enter into the long-term lease that LAUSD is offering, but several new charters will also be applying for this lease. If a different charter school is selected, then Ocean Charter will be forced to leave the campus to make room for the new charter school. Please tell LAUSD board member Steve Zimmer that OCS should be the school awarded the lease. OCS is a successful, thriving school with deep roots in the Walgrove community.
