Name: Peter Sieper on May 8, 2011Comments: the fish is a great bar, its a shame what is happening to the LES, its filling up with young kids with there parents money, pushing out all the original reasons why they came there in the first place. if there was a way for max fish to move and still be a successful buisnes, id say move out of the LES, but there isnt a way to make it work, Leave the Fish where it is -peteFlag

Name: Garrett Devoe on May 8, 2011Comments: I can think of few other bars in the New York City area that have been such a supportive meeting place and place of employment for artist, musician and performers. It would be travesty to the community if Max Fish was forced to close from otherwise preventable reasons.Flag

Name: Shalie Sweetnam on May 8, 2011Comments: The proprietors and patrons of Max Fish deserve to maintain their role as a creative and social hub that represents the Lower East Sides diversity and facilitates a community spirit that is inherent to the history and nature of the area. It is a destination for many people around the world who know it to be a unique environment where an incredible variety of individuals and artists feel free to interact and/or collaborate in an egalitarian space that trades on its personality, not it's market value. Max Fish is one of the many elements that personify the colour and camaraderie that the Lower East Side is famous for and should be respected for that in a climate that increasingly and sadly values gentrification and homogenisation over history and character.Flag

Name: Andres Marino on May 8, 2011Comments: what will be attractive about the area if "developers" attempt to situate themselves in place of the attractions? this is very short sighted and not mature thinking to attempt to make urban suburbs or city-lite type environs. this isnt based on an economy that will be earning it's own money in 10-20 years. these are people who treat living here as a right of passage. an attempt to have that sex and the city summer of their lives before planting roots ina suburb. these are tough times , this is not lasting growth . this is a flash in the pan. this is not going to generate anything lasting and is going to make this place really boring. there are other ways and places to make money. it does not need to occur specifically at that location . it happened up the block already . this vision of fields of brunch as the answer to economic problems is hilarious.Flag
