Comments: As a member of the most recent graduating class of LSU Law Center it is extremely disappointing to see such derisive behavior at my alma mater. Had Mr. Gardner actually acted in a racially discriminatory manner, this may not have been such an issue, but what he did was merely half-baked in his mind. The grand-standing the black law student group has done for this very minor of accidents, which should be described as rude rather than racist, is deplorable. If you want to attack something that depreciates black culture, go after governement cuts to healthcare.

Comments: I think we as a student body should vote on whether we wish to allow Jacob to continue in office, or whether he should step down.

Comments: While many may agree that the email sent by Jacob was inappropriate, others believe that the actions taken against Jacob are not going to alleviate the ultimate issue. Any attempt to increase diverse relations among LSU law students has now been tainted and set back. Since I have been in law school the relations among the students have been nothing but cordial, respectful and caring. Now, as you walk through the halls, the tension runs high. It is not a division based upon race but now a division based upon the reaction. No one wants racism to be present in our school, but everyone does want the issue to be handled appropriately. Lashing out at Jacob will not accomplish this. It merely destroys one person's life and future. I know that I would not like to be responsible for the destruction of a person's future, notwithstanding any distate I may have for such person. From the beginning, people said all they wanted was an aopolgy and now that they have one, they spend their time critizing the apology. We are all taught forgiveness from a young age. Maybe everyone should reflect on that lesson.

Comments: While this was a stupid move on Jacob's part, it is not something representative of his individual character. Jacob is a talented and effective SBA leader and this single faux pas should not tear apart his reputation. It is time for racial hypocrisy and taboo to end, and this is a great place to start it. Good luck Jacob.

Comments: I feel that maybe he should have resigned, but by no means should he be forced to resign. He was put into office by the student body, and therefore should only be forced out of office by the student body. He represents us, the students, and not the law school administration.
