Jessica Ngo, MDDr. Wolfe was always the student advocate and helped me through many tough times in medical school. He always made himself available and approachable and it would be a great a terrible mistake to let him go.
Keith L. Chun, M.D.I respectfully request that the Stanford Medical School Administration seriously consider the many years and the nature of the work that Dr. Elliott Wolfe has dedicated to students at the Stanford Medical School. Dr. Wolfe has been an incredibly positive influence on me, as well as many of my fellow classmates and colleagues. In a time of an over-emphasis on medical technologies, cynicism over medical insurance, and a resultant de-personalization of medicine, he kept us grounded in the core belief that medicine is, first and foremost, about connecting with and caring for people. His dedication to clinical instruction and the positive development of multiple generations of physicians should not be taken lightly. Keith L. Chun, M.D., Class of 1998

carla sanchez-palaciosdr. wolfe was the biggest supporter of medical students. the medical students at stanford need a dedicated person like him. i highly suport him.
Rebecca Rakow FlycktDr. Wolfe continues to inspire me well into my residency. I think of him while making my most difficult decisions, and especially when I consider matters of professionalism, medical judgement, and compassion. I would not be confident in the clinician I am today without his patience, guidance, and commitment.

Jennifer Barro, MDDr Wolfe is a major asset to the medical school and excellent teacher and role model. I cannot believe that an institution that values training good doctors would want to lose him from their faculty. Class of 1998.
Emily SenecalThank you, Dr. Wolfe, for all you have done for the profession of medicine and for all of us. I hope SMS will reconsider its course of action as their decision to terminate your contract is devastating.

AnonymousAs a current medical student, I do not feel this issue has been adequately addressed given the amount of discontent it has generated. What a shame that this may leave such distaste in the mouths of so many students and alumni who are otherwise very proud and supportive of our school's leadership.
LEE (NATALIE) TONEYTHIS DOCTOR/TEACHER IS TOO MUCH OF AN ASSET TO THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT TO BE LET GO!!!

Ron James, MD c/o 97I cannot imagine Stanford Medical School without Dr Wolfe. From my standpoint finding a solution that involves continued involvement of Dr Wolfe with the medical students and residents would be the best move for the institution as the commitment he has shown to education over he years, exemplified by tthe wonderful academic environment he fostered while I attended is invaluable. To this day many of he fond memories ofmy medical education are directly related to his teaching and administration.

Francis Jim DonnellyI have worked with Dr. Wolfe for the last four years in the Stanford Sp and the Kaplan SP programs. In both programs, I have experienced his astute knowledge and dedication to the sucess of the doctors-in-training that he serves. I see it as unwise to terminate such a valuable talent as Dr. Wolfe. I strongly suggest you reconsider the recent decision to terminate his employ.

AnonymousDr. Wolfe is an amazing teacher - It would be a shame not to have others be able to learn from such a doctor - a doctor who loves teaching medicine and a man who really cares about others - especially his students.

Todd SaldingerWhat Stanford is doing to EW is a disgrace. EW has been and remains a target of pre-meditated retaliation by Stanford's legal department for supporting my wife, among other students and alums, who have themselves been wrongly targeted by the same group of people. He has selflessly stood up against profound injustice in the educational process at Stanford and as such is a true champion of humanity. He is now being rewarded with a political hijacking. I realize I, too, may become the next target by simply speaking out here, but the truth must out in order to protect the next generation of Stanford alums and to bring about change. 127 Ritu Gupta (now Ritu Ullal)I am signing this because I sincerely respect and value the training I have received from Dr. Wolfe during my training at Stanford. Of all my educators, he has been the most memorable, gifted, and selfless. It is sad to see an institution be so proud of itself, and yet not honor a gem that has helped create the Stanford School of Medicine's current success. I am truly disappointed. -Ritu Gupta Ullal Chief Resident, UCSF/SFGH Family and Community Medicine Residency Program
Linda Ayres-FrederickAlthough I am not an alumna of the Stanford Medical School, I have had the honor of working in Dr. Wolfe's classes as a Standardized Patient and I whole heartedly support reinstating him to the Medical School faculty and all that this petition states. As I have said earlier in statements, Dr. Wolfe is an excellent teacher of medicine, an experienced, compassionate and exemplary physician and a wise, compassionate human being. When reading what the E4C program is supposed to achieve, I can not help but think that he is the one who most represents that point of view and who in my estimation is most likely the one to have instigated and created the program in the first place. To terminate Dr. Wolfe would be to bite off the very hand that has fed the medical school and nurtured the students. It is an act of punishment that if carried out will result in a tremendous loss not only to the school but to the state of medicine itself that is in sore need of men like him for the high quality of influence that his knowledge and wisdom exerts on generations of physicians.
Joanne EngelhardtDr. Wolfe has worked tirelessly to develop the abilities and knowledge of tmany, many medical students who were nurtured and learned new skills and capabilities. It is wrong to relieve him of his responsibilities.
AnonymousDr. Wolfe is a great physician and a great man who is willing to share his unsurpassed knowledge of the practice of medicine with Stanford medical students. Please reinstate him as our mentor and guide. He is the heart and soul of the practice of medicine at Stanford. There is no reason the med students should experience this grave loss. We need Dr. Wolfe. There could be no replacement for this great man.
Brett PariseauDr. Wolfe is incredibly popular with students and alumni, and for good reason. As many others have eloquently and passionately written, Dr. Wolfe genuinely cares about and supports medical students, and is a compassionate, experienced, gifted teacher who positively contributes to Stanford. I hope an agreement to let him stay can be reached.

John LyoWhen I was at SMS, it seemed there was a lot of hidden political maneuvering going on among administrators to push through changes to the program that we med students opposed. It also seemed that when we med students became aware of the near fait accomplis, that Dr Wolfe supported us to (usually successfully) defeat the changes -- changes we felt would erode the values that made Stanford Med unique and great. Many of us developed the feeling that he was slowly being marginalized even as long ago as 1999, due to his repeated and faithful support for the med student opinion against the few administrators who wanted to impose their will. Many of us speculated that there was an active attempt to slowly push Dr Wolfe out that started while we were students and many of us were glad to graduate before SMS changed to betray its root values... I'm sad to see that our suspicions have been vindicated.
miki freitasi truly believe that an error in judgement with political overtones has been made, and reconsideration is the first step to righting this terrible wrong. Dr. Wolfe is an asset to the dept. and should be retained for everyone's benefit
John Joseph De CaroDr. Wolfe exemplifies what it means to be an astute diagnostician, compassionate healer and gifted teacher. His positive influence on my own life, on the lives of my fellow classmates and on his patients has renewed my own faith in the medical tradition on more than one occasion. I sign this petition knowing that his absence at Stanford SoM would be a tragic and unnecessary loss.

AnonymousMy parents know the names of very few of the teachers/professors/mentors I have come to know through my medical education. Dr. Wolfe is one of these few people. I just wanted to mention the impact Dr. Wolfe's caring and patient guidance has made on my career and my development into a compassionate physician. I am sure that I am not the only student to feel this way and I too feel that losing Dr. Wolfe would be a shame.
Heather A. Harris, M.D.A very sad and wrong decision. Shameful.
Una LeeDr Wolfe is a true student advocate and consummate teacher. He is a role model for doctoring, mentoring, and inspiring.
Daniel WinetskyThis is a travesty. Dr. Wolfe is a compassionate doctor and masterful teacher. He, more than anyone else, embodies the commitment to honing one's own skills we all should have.
