Gabriel J. Martinez-Diazstanford will loose a great teacher, humanitarian, and student advocate if Dr. Wolfe's contract is not renewed.
Joanna ChanDr. Wolfe has been instrumental in my development as a physician. It is heart-breaking that my beloved Alma Mater would make such a decision. Whereas I have in the past and initially planned to support Stanford Med throughout my future career, both financially and in any way possible, I now feel alienated because of this decision to terminate Dr. Wolfe. Dr. Wolfe is an amazing mentor, clinician, eductaor, and friend. He has been supportive beyond his job description and it is unfathomable that anything he does would be in contrary to the spirit of what is good for Stanford Medical School. His presence on the faculty makes Stanford a better place, and losing him would be a terrible mistake. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. He has 100% of my support. Please reconsider this short-sighted decision to terminate him.

AnonymousDear Deans of the Stanford School of Medicine, I am a current Stanford student who begs you to reconsider your decision regarding one of the most beloved and competent doctor, teacher, mentor, confidant and friend. I cannot help but to feel despair and deception as I recall how the Deans emphasized to us during Orientation and Admit weekend that their greatest resources were its students. I was convinced to come here after hearing your words and seemingly heartfelt belief that the welfare of your students have always been Stanford Medicine’s top priority. However, if you still believe that now, and if you set the example to hold fast to your integrity, then please, listen to your students and alumni now. Any critiques and challenges placed upon the administration in the past and present by Dr. Wolfe is due to his sincere and indisputable efforts to make it better for its students. Please know that he is faithful to this school, and that his desire to improve our school is genuine. The loss of student trust and confidence in both our school and the administration would be so tragic if Dr. Wolfe’s termination is executed. I have struggled to regain the desire and passion to contribute back to this campus that I once had prior to coming here based on the events that have unfolded regarding Dr. Wolfe. I sincerely do not want to possess this negativity and resentment in my heart, but I cannot in good conscience advocate to other potential future students to come here in light of the current circumstances. I realize you are in a challenging position with many difficult decisions to resolve, and choosing the right paths usually do not come any easier, but I still hold out waning hope that you will make the right choice to reinstate Dr. Wolfe’s position. Thank you for taking the time to read our thoughts and earnest requests. Respectfully, SMS I
Asya AgulnikDr. Wolfe was my preceptor for POM, and was by far my favorite faculty who taught this course. He is a great asset to the school and it would be a shame to lose him.

AnonymousDr. Wolfe is what made Stanford comfortable for me! He is the kindest physician that I've ever met and thus far the best clinician! Every physician should aim to try to be as good as he.

Patricia A. Einarson, MDDr. Wolfe exemplifies the outstanding qualities critical to being a compassionate, effective physician. To terminate his contract so precipitously calls into question Stanford's commitment to the values Dr. Wolfe represents.

Farinaz FarrahiThis news is truly disheartening and I sincerely hope that the decision is reconsidered. Among the many outstanding physicians and educators, I consider Dr. Wolfe to be my foremost mentor, role model and educator at Stanford Medical School. He is an integral asset to the students and the program; he is not replaceable.

Scott J. KushI continue to be stunned. Why attack one of the very best educators you have? He will be remembered for our whole lives and he still touches us daily. You may soon be remembered only for one thing - quelling his magnificent voice.
Devesh VyasAlways value the immeasurable contribution Dr. Wolfe has made to thousands of students. Just the neuronal spark to even consider ending his amazing career, before his time, on his terms, is abominable and should place shame on those responsible for this indignation.

AnonymousDr. Wolfe is an asset to our medical school and I would hope he was treated in an appropriate manner.

Karen KimI was unable to go to graduation because of a cross country move and an early start date for my residency. Dr. Wolfe administered the Hipprocratic Oath to me in a private ceremony at the Rodin Sculpture Garden. I could not imagine any other administrator at Stanford taking the time on a Saturday morning to do that--and I cannot imagine life as a Stanford medical student without him. He has my fullest support.

Hiren R. PatelTerminating Dr. Wolfe is a wrongful act - the students need him. The quality of Stanford's medical education will surely be diminished.
Ahan NewmanWithout question, Dr. Wolfe remains one of the figures that I associate as the most helpful instructive, and dedicated with regard to medical students during my time at Stanford. His character, consideration for students, willingness to help and devotion make him one of the strongest visible and useful assets that the Med School has to offer. His termination is difficult to understand given what I have seen and how loved he is by the alumni.

Jeannie Y. Chang PitterIt is a shock to learn of the decision to terminate Dr. Wolfe's tenure at SMS as well as the accusation that he is inciting the protest from students and alumni that we are witnessing. That he has unwavering support from students and alumni who will, in fact, let their views be known, is a given; Dr. Wolfe has served as a central pillar of medical education at SMS, through my years there and for so many other students. He always served tirelessly, not only as a superb medical educator and compassionate clinician, but also as a student advocate and valued counselor. As such, Dr. Wolfe always came through with regard to providing personal support and advice, always in a professional manner. I sincerely hope that the administration will reverse the decision made, and allow Dr. Wolfe to continue in a leadership position at the medical school.
Ravi Chandra, M.D.Please don't be punitive - this looks really bad for Stanford!
AnonymousDr. Wolfe has been one of the most influential people in my life, to this day, and has shaped hundreds of students' careers, providing us with direction, inspiration, and wisdom. It is important to know that Dr. Wolfe has in no way made efforts to "disrupt" the medical school. The outpouring of support for him and protest to his termination comes from the students who recognize that he is an invaluable asset to the medical school and his departure would be a not only a huge loss to the institution, but in many ways, an absolute disgrace. I support him wholeheartedly.

Bryan C. Oh, MDDr. Wolfe has dedicated himself selflessly to the education of Stanford medical students. The current plan to dismiss him from the medical school demeans and insults a man who has given so much of himself to our medical school. Additionally, it trivializes and marginalizes the opinions of a generation of medical school alumni. The administration of the medical school had better consider this as is proceeds with such reckless action.

J. Suzanne MosherWell stated., I couldn't agree more. Dr. Wolfe, we support you fully and agree to withhold any financial support from Stanford Medical School. What a complete loss for the current and future students.
Felisha Rohan-MinjaresI hope that our medical school comes to show Dr. Wolfe the respect that he has shown and taught all of us over the years.
Stephen W Wallace, MDClass of 1998
Jaime E. GonzalezDr.Wolf has been an invaluable contributor and resource for Stanford medical students. If he leaves under these conditions the Medical School image will be severely tarnished. Alumni and current students should be deeply disappointed in the Medical School leadership for this fiasco.
John HeftiFor many of us, Dr. Wolfe *was* clinical medicine a Stanford. From the beginning of PCM to the summary letter for residency applications, he was a major presence for most of us. Please consider carefully the affects that terminating him would have on the next crop of Stanford graduates.
