The team is in jeopardy of not reaching the tournament for the first time in 24 years. Is that a just a coincidence that it's Lute's 1st year NOT coaching the team.Flag

If Kevin O'Neil is hired make sure to add a disclaimer to all tickets warning the fans of Kevin O'Neils notorius use of verminous language.Unfortunaltey I had the great misfortune of sitting courtside with my son at Northwestern basketball game coached by Kevin O'Neil, his cuss filled rants were a complete embarassment to everyone affiliated with the university. Lets stay with Coach Olson until he's ready to go on his own terms. He has more than earned that right.Flag

Name: Bill Yarnell on Mar 6, 2008Comments: Lute Olson should remain the head basketball coach at Arizona. The program is not in decline. There are many reasons that the last few years have been a little bit below Lute's lofty standards. I know why Lute took his leave and I wholeheartedly supported that decision. He will come back renewed and with a top recruiting class will lead Arizona back to NCAA prominence. To fire or force Lute out will have extremely negative long range implications for the University's Athletic Department. In a time of fiscal uncertainty, it is beyond absurd to fire a Hall of Fame coach who has been to the NCAA Tournament 23 straight years, done it with class and not a hint of scandal. I like Kevin O'Neill personally and think he is a good coach, but LUTE still has several more good years in him. If Lute chooses to return, then he should be welcomed back with open arms.Flag
