We write today to express our firm and unwavering support for Police Chief Heather Fong.
As community leaders and advocates, we believe that the recent attacks on Chief Fong are unfair and without grounds. We are outraged at the criticisms that have recently been leveled at Chief Fong.
Under Chief Fongs leadership, the Police Department has pursued a range of reforms to improve police practices and strengthen the Departments relationship with San Francisco residents. Her reasoned, unflappable leadership has brought stability to The Police Department and increased our communitys trust and confidence in the Department.
Throughout her tenure, Chief Fong has maintained the highest level of integrity and always remained accessible to community members exemplifying the best of public safety leadership.
It is with pride that we stand 100% behind Chief Fong. Her record as Chief of Police and her deep commitment to our community-and our City-has earned our respect and praise.
