Okay guys. So coming back next year to UTM, I decided to apply to residence. I followed all of the instructions that were required by the UTM Residence and waited until March 23rd to deposit my money to get my application confirmed. On the night of March 22nd, UTM students were beginning to line up close to 12 hours early to get a number to get accepted. The University deemed it okay that these rule breakers were able to get what they wanted instead of saying no. As someone who was working out of town on that weekend, how is this suppose to offer me a "fair chance" I went in at the scheduled time only to be told by a UTM RLS member that I should have been there last night! Now, I am speaking to the head of residence who is siding with the staff (for obvious reasons) but I need help. In order to convince them that I will not allow them to get away with breaking the rules they set, I'm asking you to help me by signing your name and leaving a comment. Thanks a lot, Amanda.

Updates

April 6, 2009

The administration has taken notice of this surge in traffic and agreed to a formal meeting to discuss their housing allocation policies. I am currently preparing a briefing document that outlines the specific procedural failures regarding the cutoff times. Expect a summary of that conversation once the session concludes.

This is completely unfair. If there are rules then they should apply to everyone equally not just the people who have time to camp out overnight.
