The petition
Due to the postponement/cancellation of some of Rain's concerts in the U.S.A. and Canada, Rain has been unfairly criticized and accused of fraud by Click Entertainment who is Hawaii’s Concert promoter, and by the Hawaiian media. Miscommunication between promoters, production problems, lawsuits over the name "Rain" are some of the reasons mentioned as to why the concerts were postponed and some of them cancelled.
Anyone with some knowledge of Rain's character and life story up to now, knows of the hardships he went through in order to get to where he is. He is a real professional, a persistent hard worker, a perfectionist and a true performer who would consistently strive to give his 100% best for his audience. His success story has actually touched countless people all over the world and inspired them to courageously follow their dreams no matter what.
Whatever are the real reasons behind the cancellation and postponement of his concerts in Canada and the USA, as a fan of Rain, from my understanding, he is simply a talent that was hired to perform. His only job is to give his 100% best to his audience when he stands up on the stage when that stage is ready for him. Anything else such as the organizing and the production of his concerts are not his responsibility. From what I know, it also is certainly not up to him to make the decision whether to cancel or postpone concerts. Seeing that Rain is not involved in the production and organizing of the concerts, his name and reputation which he has spent years to build up, should never have been dragged into the mud.
As a fan of Rain, I have no idea about the real behind-the-scenes story. It might be Star M’s fault, it might be Revolution Entertainment (Korea)’s fault, it might be Revolution Entertainment Canada’s fault, it might be Click Entertainment’s fault, it might be JYPE’s fault… one thing I do believe in is: all this mess is not Rain’s fault. Whatever issues that need to be legally dealt with would have the Courts decide who’s right and who’s wrong in all this.
Even though this whole mess is not Rain’s fault, many times, Rain has issued statements to his fans expressing that he is very sad, concerned and upset over these hurdles about his North American Tour and about the fact that he wasn’t able to keep his promise to his fans. He has promised that he would try his best to make it up to his fans. He has also mentioned that he hasn’t spoken up until now (even though people were accusing him left and right) out of respect for all the parties involved. He has said that instead of throwing words around, he’d rather spend more time in practices so that he can show his best to his fans and defend himself through his actions.
As a fan of Rain, I fully and completely believe in his integrity both as an artist and as a person. My admiration and respect for him has actually grown even more through this mess about his concerts. Throughout this ordeal, Rain has behaved himself with class and grace to all parties involved. Therefore, I would like to extend my 100% support for him through these rough times. It hasn’t been easy to become Asia’s Superstar and as an Asian performer, it won’t be easy to break through the US market. In times like this, Rain needs his fans’ support the most. Through this petition, I just wanted to let Rain know that his hard work, his professional work ethics, his passion and his 100% dedication to perfect his art throughout the years have gained him many many loyal fans that will support him through thick and thin. No matter what, his fans will always believe in him, will always back him up and will stand up to whoever would wish to tarnish his reputation.
