There has been a lot said about Kirk Cameron lately. He is taking a stand publically about some things that he feels strongly about and he is taking a lot of heat for it. Recently Indiana Wesleyan University announced Kirk as the latest choice for the World Channger award. There has been a lot said in regard to this from my fellow IWU alumni, both for and against. While I have said Kirk would not have been my first choice for the award, Cheryl Beckett would have, now that the choice has been made, I feel like it's important to support IWU and Kirk. Kirk is not always tactful, and sometimes I disagree with his methods, but he is a powerful voice to the world. In a world that gives much more credit to celebrity opinions than it should, Kirk stands out as someone who is not afraid to stand up for Biblical values. I also believe that IWU should be supported in it's decision, to back down now would send the wrong message. Please take some time to think and pray over this before signing and then if you agree that while Kirk may not be your first choice for this award, now that he has been chosen, we need to show Christian unity and support him and IWU.
