| 119 | Kat Ong | Sterilising is the best method, though you may not be able to trap fearful cats up for sterilisation but neither you are able to trap those fearful ones for euthansia, therfore sterilsing is a much humane approach than euthansia. Besides, it is the care givers doing all the work to trap cats & send them to sterilisation, coming up with their own pocket money. Is not it good thing for AVA to save manpower to trap cats for euthansia. i also hope Govt can consider revising the rules of type of Dog's size for types of home & cats allowed in flats. Smaller dogs that barks alot also got evicted out from the owner's flat, so it is not the size that matters but whether it cause trouble, noise & nuisance to others. I know of a dog if you want, I can bring you there, wh odies not even bark once at anyone. Its a big mongrel. Same goes to cats. not all cats are noisy. If the cat is a domesticated type, they will love to stay at home without noise. If the cats are wild & outdoor nature, it will hates to be confine. then no point keep such acat in the home. so let it stay in the wild as it has been. It is owner's fault to allow their pets to defecate at pulic places. Govt have the right to confiscated such pets from pet owners. I hope Govt can think about this. |

It is clearly the best way to manage the cat population in our neighbourhoods. Killing and removing cats merely creates the vacuum effect that leads to the vicious cycle of unneutered and unmanaged cats populating the nieghbourhood. There is no better time than now for the ministries to take a more intelligent approach to managing our environment. Culling is an archaic and obsolete method of animal management. I am sure our ministries are much more progressive than to utilise ineffective systems in this day and age of cosmopolitan globalised singapore |

I also would like the hdb to lift its policy on no cats allowed in hdb flats. I think cats made a wonderful companion, friend and pets. They can reduce our stress in a positive way. |
