Name: Anonymous on Jun 4, 2007Comments: My power account is with Mercury. I have at times got behind but have been treated well. I am proud to be a MERCURY customer and my heart goes out to the person given the disconnection order as they were only doing their job. No way was the disconnection responsible for Mrs. Muliaga's death.Flag

Name: Lorraine Adams on Jun 4, 2007Comments: I for one do NOT hold Mercury Energy responsible for this woman's death. If anyone is to 'blame' it's the blardy family members for not getting help for her when they could see she was having trouble breathing. If it were up to me I'd cancel that cheque for $10K too, they don't deserve it.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 4, 2007Comments: I feel so saddened by this whole chain of events. I really feel for the contractor and don't believe for one minute it was his fault. If this family don't like NZ rules they should head back to Samoa. As for racism..oh please, what a crock for them to say this. They chose to live here OUR Language is English!Flag

Now that they are losing support they are trying to play the rascism card, get your $10.000 back Mercury they shouldnt recieve a cent!Flag

Name: Chris on Jun 4, 2007Comments: Mercury has no reason to apologise or to think that they are responsible for Mrs. Muliaga's death. Mrs. Muliaga and her family appear to have made no attempt to preserve her life so it is little wonder she lasted so long.Flag

We may not yet know ALL the facts, but I don't believe Mercury Energy can be blamed for her death. Imagine what this country will come to if Mercury Energy get done for this.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 4, 2007Comments: i find this family absolutely disguisting crying fowl play for their mothers death. Yes it is sad the mother is dead but it's the familys fault for her death not ME's, they put the church before there family they knew they needed that money and they think they have the right to call new zealand people racsist how dare they call that poor contractor a murderer i believe they are disguisting and should have that 10 grand taken off them.Flag

In Hawkes Bay there was a kids a few years back that was burnt from a power box at Whakatu and Unison was taken for a financial ride on that one too after they went above and beyond. What this family are doing is not on!Flag

Name: Mike Harvey on Jun 4, 2007Comments: I think the blame should fall first on Mrs Muliaga, then on her family. In no way do i beleive the contractor or the power company were at fault. You have to pay your bills, its sad that the church tithing was put ahead of this. It is my understanding that the oxygen machine was not a life support machine. AS to the stress arguement, does that now mean you cant cut of the power of anyone with heart problemsFlag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 4, 2007Comments: It was the family's responsibility to make sure their power was paid for, they couldve called an ambulance, called her doctors, seen winz BEFORE it was disconnected, taken up the offer of help from their neighbour..its not this power company's fault and im surprised mercury energy paid them $10,000 considering they are not to blame for this womans death. The family should be ashamed.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 4, 2007Comments: I absolutely do NOT blame Mercury for this. If Folole was so ill she should have accepted the ambulance and gone to the hospital if her family/church would not pay for the power. I hope it desn't turn out that "fatally ill" Folole thought choosing to die a litle sooner than expected would get her family a big payout from Mercury.Flag
