To Hawaii Community Development Authority (HCDA) officials,
I petition to support the 803 Waimanu Work Force Housing development that will provide 198 Work Force units. It is my understanding that all units in the Development will be offered for sale to people making less than 140% of Median Income.
Located in Kakaako, the proposed apartment building is approximately 250 feet high , comprising a 20 story residential tower over a 7.5-story parking podium. Under the current HCDA rules, Workforce Housing is allowed double Floor Area Ratio with which the proposed project complies. To achieve this, the applicant is asking reasonable modifications (NOT variances) to the Kakaako Mauka Rules.
Because of the urgent and extreme need of Work Force Housing in Honolulu, and because this project is conveniently located to serve working people, I urge HCDA to approve 803 Waimanu, so that the working community may benefit.
