Gilbert Orban has been a permanent staple in the City of Lawrence community for over 25 years at Marsh Supermarket. He has been employed there since some of us were kids. He was recently unjustly terminated and it saddens our community greatly. Gilbert is such a great, caring, helpful and friendly individual. Just saying the name Gilbert around the community brings a smile upon everyone's face. Please sign this position in support of the reinstatement of Gilbert at Marsh. By signing you are also committing to no longer shopping at Marsh until he is given his job back with full time still accrued, in support of our dear friend and neighbor! Lets show our support for Gilbert as he would us!
The days have been long and honestly it is exhausting to keep pushing when the walls feel this high. We are almost at our goal and I need you to reach out to just a few more neighbors to get us across the line.

Just wondering what's going on with Gilbert? It's been almost 4 weeks.... and almost $700 has gone in the Fishers Kroger store. I will not spend a penny at Marsh anywhere in the city until his job is returned.

I worked with Gilbert for over for years. And I've known him for many more. No, he might not be what everyone calls normal, but he is an integral part of our community, and a main staple of the marsh brand. Put him back to work!

From what I understand he played a joke on someone by hiding their hat. Having said that the last couple times I'd spoken with him they had been cutting back his hours substantially so this sounds like an excuse to get rid of him.

Gilbert has been at that store and been a very helpful and polite person.. Don't understand why such a loyal employee would be fired over a joke. He can't even drive. Needed to be where he could walk to work.
