The Board of Zoning Appeals finally did the right thing and upheld the ruling to keep Trager Brothers Coffee at the community center. We beat the bureaucrats who tried to push our local business out of its home. Thanks to everyone who refused to back down against this nonsense.

Support Trager Brothers Coffee at the Rockfish Valley Community Center

We, the undersigned, request that the Nelson County Board of Zoning Appeals uphold the Department of Planning & Zoning ruling to allow Trager Brothers Coffee to roast and sell organic coffee at the Rockfish Valley Community Center in Afton, VA. The ruling is in accordance with Section 5-1 of the Nelson County Zoning Ordinance, which identifies “Uses – Permitted by right” for the Residential District (R-1). Section 5-1-4 lists, “Public and semi-public uses” as by-right uses. The definition of Community Center per Section 2 of the Zoning Ordinance explicitly provides for the “leasing of space within the building for the sale of goods and services.” We submit this petition to demonstrate our support of Trager Brothers Coffee at RVCC and in support of the Department of Planning & Zoning's ruling in this matter. Letters of Support may be sent to: Board of Zoning Appeals, c/o Tim Padalino, Director; Dept. of Planning & Zoning, PO Box 558 Lovingston VA 22949. Letters must be received by Monday, August 26, 2013.
