Re: Character Reference for Joseph Mitchell

Dear Honorable Judge Geraci,

We provide this letter in support of Joseph Mitchell and acknowledge his decision to plea to drug charges in the Western District of New York. Joe is best noted for his community involvement, dedication to his family and hard-working talents. As a child, young man and adult, he would often assist seniors in the community with their household chores and daily activities. His love for seniors stemmed from his close relationship with his maternal and paternal grandmothers. Often times, he would volunteer with some of the other seniors housed in his maternal grandmother’s community. Joe always presented with a smile and calm demeanor.

Joe is an outstanding father to his 2 children, Ciarra, of whom is 11 years of age; and Joseph, of whom is 6 years of age. From inception, Joe instilled values of respect, integrity and ambition in the lives of his children. To date, Joe’s children have been exemplary honor students with both academic excellence and athletic distinction. Joe is very talented; and has always had a passion for art and custom designs. As a child, Joe’s paternal great-aunt would purchase him toy motor cars. Each Christmas season, he would get a new toy motor car. Joe displayed his appreciation of art and custom designs through paintings, portraits and crafts. Joe participated in art-focused after-school programs; and later got accepted in Rochester School of the Arts. As an adult, he continued this interest through studying real-estate development and automobile engineering.

Most notably, Joe is a man of responsibility and honesty. Joe has accepted responsibility for his actions and made the decision not to blame others, as noted in the “War Against Drugs,” in efforts for a downward departure. Joe recognizes his mishaps. Such ordeal as noted by Joe has been an embarrassment. We love Joe, support him and know that Joe has already been punished. Please accept this letter of support for our dear son, brother, father, and friend.

Sincerely,

Family & Friends in Support of Joseph Mitchell
