Comments: John for Mayor, that just might be his future. Why not, Tom Dillon did it after he was president of little league. Stay strong John for both your family and this little league, we have your "6".

Comments: John is a solid and ethical person, and while he didn't represent himself at his best during this incident, he's brought significant contributions to the league, and as a volunteer. We should be thankful for his service. It's clear the petition against is either fueled by political motivation or people forming judgment without giving credence to the full story. The fact that the Board is in full support of John speaks clearly to the matter.

Comments: Great Idea by all of you in supporting John. But in my line of work, I like to have the facts before I voice my personal opinion. In reading some comments, it seems like a few do not have all the facts when voicing their opinion on this site and others. I would hope that people would read what actually happened prior to that snip-it of a video everyone looks at before they pass any judgement on Kirkland little league or their president. By the way John, I wish we had a president as strong willed as you protecting our volunteer umpires at our ball park. This is what I found when looking for answers myself. Below is the ejection report concerning a spectator from the Coast Baseball game between the Yankees(home) and Tigers (away), played on 6/8/2012 Everest park, B field, start time of 5:30pm. In approx.. the top of the 3rd inning I observed a spectator talking to numerous players from the outside of the Tigers batter waiting area. It appeared he was in a conversation as a “4th Coach instructing players. I approached him and asked him not to talk to the players. He asked me why and I told him that we had already spoken about this previously (earlier in the season in which he complied) and to not “make this hard please”. I asked him to stop talking to players and leave this area and return to the stands..He said “hard”? I can... do this if I want to, you can talk to my lawyer. I said I would talk to your lawyer but right now I need you to not talk to the players. He did not comply and said he will not stop, then turned his back to me and went on talking. At this point, I instructed him that he needed to leave the park as he was ejected. Again, he said, talk to my lawyer, turned his back and kept talking to players. One of the coaches, I believe him to be Cory Peterson, heard my comments to the spectator. From this point, I had no more contact with him, verbally or otherwise. I went to the Tigers manager and asked him to bring his players off the field and then did the same with the Yankees manager. I asked the Tigers manager to talk to his teams spectator and inform him of the need to leave the park. The manager came back to me and said the spectator would not leave. I left the field of play with the plate umpire, John Urrutia still there, to search for a League Official. I could not easily locate one. I called the League President, John Rudolph and informed him of the situation and he arrived in around 5 minutes. So far, 10 to 12 minutes have gone by since I directed the spectator to leave the park. John arrived and I pointed out the spectator who was sitting in the front row of the bleachers. John spoke with him for a couple of minutes but I could not hear what was said as I was on the field. John then rose his voice and demanded he leave the ball park. At this time a woman spectator jumped up and started yelling at John. I then went to the fence to try and calm the situation down but since I was on the field of play, there was little I could do. Both the original male spectator and the woman left the park after being escorted out by John and I believe, Jim Unzelman, at least for as far as I could see them. The players were returned to the field of play and the game resumed. Below are both Little League rules and Kirkland American Local league Rules and Policies and Procedure which relate to this ejection. Ron Kellie UIC KALL Little League 2012 Baseball rules. (pertinent verbiage from them…). 3.09 Players, managers and coaches of the participating teams shall not address, or mingle with spectators…. 3.13 The Local League will establish ground rules to be followed by all teams in the league. 9.01 (c) Each umpire has the authority to rule on any point not specifically covered in these rules. 9.01 (f) Umpires may order both teams into their dugouts and suspend play until such time League Officials deal with unruly spectators…. KALL Local Rules. Page 14, 25 Ground Rules, A, IV, g. (Managers and Coaches may not). Allow unsportsmanlike conduct from players or from any of the spectators toward other player, Managers, Coaches, Umpires or other spectators. (in this situation, I felt the manager and coaches of the Tigers acted accordingly towards the intent of the rules). KALL Policies and Procedures. Page 9 Clarification of Local League Unsportsmanshiplike Conduct Penalty. Any player, manager, coach or fan ejected from any Kirkland American Little League game by an umpire or Kirkland American Little League Board Member will be required to serve a mandatory one-game suspension for the first offense for any season (appealable)…. Reference page 10. Disciplinary Action Procedures…. Page 12 Ejection from a Game. Parents, fans, coaches and managers are reminded that a person ejected from a game/ball park will leave the ball park, to include the parking lot and surrounding park area, within two (2)) minutes…. Page 16 3, B. Kirkland American Little League does not allow booing or verbal abuse of umpires, managers, coaches or ball players from anyone in or near the stands. Spectators will be warned. In most instances, by the umpire and if the abuse continues, the person or persons will be ejected from the ball park. League officials also have the authority to remove anyone from the stands for inappropriate behavior. (It is the responsibility of the team manger to keep his/her spectators under control) Manager, coaches and fans are advised that “a person ejected from the ball park will leave the ball park, to include the parking lot and surrounding area, within two (2) minutes” Failure to do so could result in a possible forfeiture to one of the teams playing.

Comments: Yes, I support John Rudolph. John has worked hard the last few years on the board, it is a thankless job. He's a VOLUNTEER people! No one should have to be a rule enforcer for parents in the stands at a little league game, it's simple: follow the rules and be good examples for our young people playing the sport! Don't be a distraction.

Comments: I can think of several names to call John Rudolph. And none of them have anything to do with the junk those very few sad, sad people tried to paint of him. This is who he really is, to our family & community; Head Football Coach, Mentor to our sons, Little League President, Little League Baseball & Softball Coach, Basketball Coach, Recipient of the 2012 Fran Nordstrom Volunteer of the Year Award from The Boys & Girls Club, Member & Past Deputy Grand Knight of Holy Family Knights of Columbus and amazing father to his 4 children. We hope you NEVER stop helping our children John. Keep up the amazing work - please.

Comments: After watching this blog from afar and seeing others drug through the mud with local papers and social media its a wonder why anyone with as much spirit and dedication as Mr. Rudolph keeps volunteering these days. With Bob Sternoff stepping down from kirklands city council, Mr. Rudolph would make an ideal replacement if he ever leaves his position with Kirkland little league. Well done John Rudolph, well done.
