My family grew up on the LoneTree Canyon Ranch, and still use this road to go hiking and have picnics. Thank you to Hugh and Rosie for sharing your lovley canyon. Closing this road to the public would be very sad.Flag

Name: Linda Allen on Feb 9, 2013Comments: This road should remain a County road. Those who have lived there for an extremely long time should be considered in this matter. Please don't listen to someone new to the area just because they have possibly made monetary promises etc. Consider the folks that have lived there most if not all their lives. Have we actually reached the point where those in charge of decisions no longer take in to consideration the thoughts & opinions of those considered "local" folks? Who truly does have a right to be considered in this or any other local matter? Please take a moment to consider how you would feel if placed in the same situation. Thank you.Flag

My Grandfather, Earnest Wilkins once owned part of Lone Tree Canyon, and even though I grew up in Chicago, not Wyoming, I spent almost every summer at my grandparents ranch, and in the canyon. It is truly Gods little slice of heaven. I have been blessed to be able to bring my husband & son to the Canyon, where they have created memories of their own. Besides family, the canyon is what has brought me back to Wyoming year after year.Flag

Through the years its towering cliffs and cool meadows have refreshed and uplifted countless souls. Please keep the road open to the public and our posterity.Flag

This canyon is a magical place that has managed to shed a lot of damage done to it by humans over the years. while not a pristine place it is beautiful and should be kept as is for future generations to enjoy. Thank you for your time. Eric C MarlattFlag

Name: Marie Hanines-Frazier on Feb 11, 2013Comments: This road needs to remain open to the public. My step-father, Ernest Wilkins owned half of Lone Tree Canyon, until his death in 1987. We ran cattle in the canyon. Though I now live in Illinois, I still visit the canyon and am very thankful for the friendship my family has maintained with Mr. and Mrs. Dowers. This beautiful oasis, nestled into the ravins and draws of the Wyomings' high, country needs to remain available to those who enjoy the peace that Lone Tree brings. In all of my years living in Wyoming, this road has never been a danger to anyone. It would be a travesty if anyone manages to stop visitors and friends of Herb and Rosie Dowers from having access to Lone Tree Canyon.Flag

Name: Bettyanne Marie Haines on Feb 11, 2013Comments: I grew up riding & breaking horses down in Lone Tree Canyon when my step-dad Ernest Wilkins owned the top half of Lone Tree Canyon. Lone Tree Canyon became my sanctuary and piece of heaven for many years in my life. Lone Tree Canyon has always filled my heart with hope and peace because of its abundant natural beauty. My spirit is elated and refreshed each time I have the opportunity to walk along Lone Tree Canyon's roads. I would be emotionally heartbroken if I could no longer feel the blessings of Lone Tree Canyon....I am honored to sign this petition for keeping Lone Tree Canyon open!Flag

Name: James Absher on Feb 11, 2013Comments: I have been to the canyon many times . I know that there is no damage being done to the environment by usage of this ESTABLISHED road. To come up with the cockamamy story that damage is being done by the little amount of traffic that this road sees as an excuse to vacate is prepostorus. This is just a blatant attempt to privitize for personal reasons.Flag
