We, the Undersigned, are aware of certain mean and false attacks by a small group seeking to discredit and undermine the work of the Friends of English Avenue (FEA), who have been true friends to the English Avenue Community. Since our inception in 2009, FEA has done the following:

-Helps keep Kathryn Johnston's name alive and fights injustice (through beautifying her former community and making it a safer place to live);

-Helps feed the hungry through providing fresh produce from our two beautiful urban farms (1,048 pounds of produce given to residents at no cost in 2012 and 1,600 pounds in 2013);

-Provides our neighbors jobs (only English Avenue residents are hired by FEA to do the gardening and clean-up work);

-Sponsors many organizations events within the community;

-Contributes food, beverages, and printing supplies for community events;

-Provides clothing to over 130 residents annually through our Clothing Closet

-Provides rent free housing to an Atlanta Police Officer in our neighborhood

-Has worked to clean-up our neighborhood (removed 125 tons of trash from the community in 2010);

-Has sponsored community town hall meetings for crime prevention;

-Has contributed to our neighborhoods 45% decline in crime since beginning our work here.

We have carefully and completely reviewed the allegations of the small group and conclude without qualification that the allegations are false and libelous. Please contact any of us if you have questions.
