Name: Suzy Ripley on Nov 16, 2012Comments: I think it's reall awful that this man who has already lost so much should be held responsible for something beyond his control. I feel so much for the mum as a mum myself but is he really to blame?? Surely then the friends who let her get off the train are to be held partly responsible? It was an awful tragic accident, and I can't understand why this man has to go to prison. It makes no real sense.Flag

I cant help thinking of the blame culture this country has to put up with. To ave 'closure' we have to blame someone, rather than take responsibility of ourselves not to be in dangerous situations. Additionally i'm a cyclist and everyday I have to risk myself on the roads; if a driver killed me they would be lucky to get six months. I really dont understand this discrepancy. I feel for everybody involved in this affair, wholly sad.Flag

Name: Anon on Nov 16, 2012Comments: British Rail as a large company should be responsible for the safe-guard of their passengers and employee's. Safe-guards should be installed as a result of this tragic accident. Should it take the life of a young girl for British Rail to stand up, hold their hand up and admit it's their fault not the poor man when in fact short cuts in British Rail removed platform attendants, who stood at the end of a platform to release the train. More policing of stations which British Rail should pay for. Too many questions in this case, tragic as it is the wrong man has taken the fall, and as far as friends go!!!!!!!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 16, 2012Comments: I do not know Mr McGee but have followed this Tragic story. Georgia herself, her family and friends need to take responsibility for this accident. Sadly they are trying to blame this innocent man for her underage misuse of drink and drugs. The people who let her get in such a state should be held accountable. I hope Mr McGee is successful in getting an appeal and is freed.Flag

Nobodies responsibility except train guard with 20 years exemplary service, late at night after long shift being stressed and harassed by crowd of drunks. A criminal act requires criminal intent or murderous negligence. Typical of this world turned upside down England!Flag

Name: Louise Fitz on Nov 17, 2012Comments: its very sad that a young girl lost her life in such tragic circumstances but georgia was the one who chose to get in such a state. she was conscience of her actions when she chose to drink and take drugs. I knoow at 16 myself i did ge in some states but always knew when enough was enough, I would never dream of taking drugs so i would not know the effect on the human mind. But all this a side Georgia was 16 and like some other 16 year olds parents her parents allowed her to drink and go out into town, right or wrong they arent the only parents guilty of this but they still have a duty of care to their UNDERAGE daughter to ensure she is home at a certain time and to arrange how she is getting home. Then she is pre-drinking with friends, so were was the friends parents, they would of been around so why as 'mature' adults have they not contacted Georgias parents to inform them of the state their daughter is in. Then you have the idiot who sold her the ILLEGAL drug(s) wonder how many other underage girls he/she is selling too. Yeh so then Georgia and her friends arrive at the train station to head to Liverpool, Georgia is pretty messed u, FALLING so why didnt her friends put her in a taxi home, thats what I would of done for my friends. But no she boards the train keeps gettng on and off the train, the dorrs shut se is banging on the doors to get back on, too late, the train SLOWLY moves away and she goes under, yes it is a tragic loss o a young life but why is Chris McGee the only person who is responsible for Georgias death, his is not manslaughter, he has een found guilty of manslaughter due to negilence so why hasnt her parents because they had a suty of care too. Same as any other responsible adults who were in the house were Georgia was pre drinking, they are more responsible than Chris Mcgee in my view. Then the drug dealer who is prbably still dealing on teh streets to other underage girls, well to me that was the leading factor to Georgias death so he/she should be tried for murder but mo lets blame the train guard who has to deal with fuelled up drunken and drugged people every weekend. and his one weekend a young girl is that out of it she couldnt even move when the train moved away SLOWLY sorry but this is a flaw in the British Criminal Justice System, Chris Mcgee needs to be freed and put back into society. How is prison going to rehabilitate a man who has not committed a crime, or who is not a threat to society, instead it is just goig to pyschologically destroy him. So I hope the CJS ar proud because lets face the facts if Georgia hadnt been leaning on that train then something else would of happened that night she was not in the right frame of mind consciouslly. I do sympathsise towards all her family and have sympathy for chris's, there was more than one life what ended that day so please free chris mcgeeFlag
