Greetings All,

For those who don't know me I am an alderman in the City of Verona. It is at this time of year that the City staff is wrapping up what will ultimately be our 2017 City budget. Under the capital investment side of the equation I believe we are finally at a point when the City of Verona can financially support the building of an outdoor aquatic facility. There is some debate about the idea of improving the Fireman's park beach and including a splash pad at that location or a pool/splash pad project in another location. While I have enjoyed the beach at what it has to offer outdoor enthusiasts, I believe a pool project would better address the needs and wants of the Verona community.

With the closure of the Epic TIF district the city will not only be able to reduce the city portion of your tax bill we also will have some significant one time monies available for reinvestment in the community.
