His guidance, creativity, toughness, and frankness during my years at Everett High helped shape hundreds of students into mature and responsible adults that continue to give back to the community. He has my continued support.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 14, 2013Comments: Please, it was a joke. And although Mr Nauman is talented, I doubt he was able to shoot the video himself. When either of my sons had any interaction with "Fuji" it was always a positive experience. There are CONVICTED FELONS, who stole from the TAXPAYERS OF THIS CITY, that have not lost their job. This is a joke!Flag

Based on the choice of video introductions, I believe he was trying to meet the kids where they are. Catch their interest and let them know he can relate to them. As a parent I can understand why they would be upset by the video in question but as an educator I see the value of it as well. Connecting with students at a level they can relate to goes a long way when attempting to lead them in the right direction. I think the time and effort he took to introduce himself to the student body should speak volumes to the dedication he will be willing to put into being a principal. People seem to be missing the big picture.Flag

What I saw on TV is Mr. Nauman at his Goofiest and I know he did it all in Fun. If people take it the wrong way, they obviously don't know the guy.Flag

I think it is fantastic to see an EHS Principal that grew up in the City of Everett and is an example to all young students of what hard work and dedication to your passion can realize. While there may be a difference of opinion on the "introduction video," it certainly was not produced with a bad intent and I do beleive it resonates positively with the students. After all, I think it would be extremely beneficial for students to have a principal to whom they can relate. Superintendent Forestiere and the School Committee need to think long and hard about the overall benefits afforded to the school system and the City of Everett by having educators such as Mr. Naumann on the staff. He is a true testament to the success of the Everett Public Schools and is a role model to all students!Flag

Name: Kristen Giardina on Jan 14, 2013Comments: Very seldom do we come across a teacher with an obvious passion for impacting the lives of his students. This is Erick Naumann; to say Erick Naumann is the epitome of what all teachers should be is an understatement. I can think of very few teachers who profoundly impacted my high school career. Whether it was pushing me to the point of exhaustion during track practice, or making the process of digestion seem fun and interesting, or just being that one teacher who feels comfortable enough to call you out when he thinks you are slacking off - he did it with a sense of humor and a level of compassion unmatched by any of his colleagues. He is a special breed of educator/mentor/guidance counselor/coach and Everett High is lucky to have him. I can't think of anyone else better suited for that job...or more importantly for the students.Flag
