Support California's progress in ending plastic pollution
Californians won a tremendous victory when we passed a statewide ban on throwaway plastic bags that pollute our communities. That ban is the first of its kind in the country. In 2015 we won again, passing a statewide ban on plastic microbeads in facial cleansers and other products that infiltrate our waterways where they absorb toxins, kill fish, and enter our food chain. Our statewide ban even helped us win a federal ban, signed by President Obama in December. Now we have to stand up for what we won in California. Plastic polluters from outside our state are spending millions of dollars to attack our progress and keep us paying the costs to clean up the waste from billions of throwaway bags. In 2016 we need to stand up to the out-of-state polluters who put their profits above our environment, our health, and our communities. Will you stand with us to support our progress against plastic pollution, continue California's shift to reusable bags, and improve our environment?
