Support Brentwood/Highland Neighborhood Plan- Oppose Land Use Changes for Shia and Texas State Trooper Properties

The Brentwood/Highland Neighborhood Plan provides a framework for increased density and growth while maintaining and improving the vibrant neighborhoods it serves. I oppose the proposed land use changes and proposed zoning changes to the Shia and Texas State Trooper Association lots. (City of Austin Case #NPA-2012-0018.01 & #NPA-2012-0018.02 and #C14-2012-0052 & #C14-2012-0053)
Changing land use and zoning for these lots to the highest density multifamily designation would be detrimental to the surrounding residential areas. Furthermore, it is a gross abuse of the neighborhood plan which was thoughtfully crafted and widely lauded as a pro-growth, pro-neighborhood plan.
Enforce the Brentwood/Highland Neighborhood Plan as it stands. Encourage developers to place their projects in areas zoned for such projects. The Brentwood/Highland Neighborhood Plan supports vibrant neighborhoods. Vibrant neighborhoods support a thriving, liveable Austin.
