Comments: AMEN Such obstruction in academe is dangerous and disturbing. Freedom from censorship (what this proposal represents) in intellectual pursuits is fundamental---- and essential. If not in education ----- where?

Comments: This is like the Soviet Union eradicating certain historical events to show only what they want you yo know. The City Council should be enforcing city law not telling schools how to cultivate minds.

Comments: I write as a Brooklyn College alumnus (BA 47) and honoree (DHL 81), and as an academic working on resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Though critical of many Israeli policies--especially the settlement project--I do not support the BDS campaign, but I wholeheartedly support the President's stand on academic freedom.

Comments: This is a ridiculous censorship of political expression. Politicians that control the purse strings of public institutions have a conflict of interest when they oppose certain expressions of academic freedom--actually, ANY expression of academic freedom. Please do not censor the rights of Brooklyn College students to hold campus events that explore controversial topics. Thank you.
