We the undersigned are attendees of the Supply/Returners/Part-timers course at Stoke Rochford, Septmber 29th - October 1st 2010. We write to ask that the N.U.T address the dire situation affecting so many of our supply teaching members, rendering us a group who are unfairly discriminated against. Many, as you will be aware, are now forced to work via agencies, resulting i them losing access to Teachers Pay and Conditions, pension rights and fair and equal opportunities compared with directly employed contracted colleagues. The popularity of this course that we are attending, and the provision of an extra course next term (as a result of over-subscription this time) are indicative of the anxiety so many colleagues have, and we urge you to raise the profile of this invaluable group of the mebership by endevouring to rectify the situation and put us back on an equal footing with the rest of the profession. We look forward to receiving your early response to our concerns.
