How does Cliff Jumping hurt other people?

On May 26th 2007, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that diving from cliffs at 19 lakes in Southern West Virginia and surrounding states has been banned. The West Virginia lakes are Beech Fork, Bluestone, Burnsville, East Lynn, R.D. Bailey, Summersville and Sutton. Many people are angry and wish that they could remove the ban. We need to get as many people as possible to sign this petition and give good reasons, why cliff jumping should not be illegal. Only 69 people have died from cliff jumping since 1993. That is nothing compared to the amount of people that have jumped and lived. David Bowe once said, "Just look at how many people die in automobiles. 40,000; Every year in America! That is way more than 69! If cliff jumping is banned, so should cars." Please save out sport and sign the petition!

We recently traveled to Summersville Lake, and there is a boat that comes around they says safety patrol, but they just told us about the ban, but said for now they can do nothing to enforce it. They eventually just told us to jump when they are not around. Thanks for signing though and let’s make it 100% legal again
