Comments: The marquee seems to have little visible impact on the environment. If sound is an issue for neighbours proper sound readings should be carried out by the environmental health department to monitor the impact as it seems far enough away from any houses not to be a problem.

Comments: It would be a real shame if this venue was refused - it is in an ideal, unique location and the impact on the environment is far out weighed by the positives this venue type brings to Guernsey.

Comments: The knock on effect of not being able to use this site is quite large, from catering staff reduction, many of whom are part time,so a loss to the general tax revenue,to those that are part of the supply chain, from food and drink, including milk from the dairy,to the disposal of waste, including recycling. It may not seem much, but over 5/6 months it all adds up.And finally, has anyone from planning even bothered to visit the site!!

Comments: We were visitors from the UK, and we distinctly remember what an fantastic venue it was. Guernsey is a beautiful place, and this venue really bought out the best of it... incredible! For a temporary structure, this venue was outstanding.

Comments: Sueco are providing an excellent venue and service to the people of Guernsey. They need supporting and not hindering.

Comments: Changes in legislation are usually done to fix a problem in society and prevent them getting out of hand in the future. What are usually over looked are the micro effects these changes have on specific business and communities. They often have a negative effect where there were no real problems before. I believe this is such a case. I have been visiting Guernsey for the last 20 years and to think that Sueco have been refused planning permission to erect one of their marquees during the summer months, which they have been using for the last 6 years (no problem existed before), because there has been a change in legislation is frankly very silly. I have been to a number of functions in the marquee and find that it is in such a picturesque setting that you couldn’t ask for a better place in Guernsey to hold a function. The marquee is of the highest standard, it is a way to help attract visitors and locals to the area so they can enjoy the setting. I have spoken to Sueco about a booking in the next year and they have explained to me that the extra cost the new legislation will put on the business means that the cost of holding a function will now have to increase dramatically, and thus now will be out of our reach (and I suspect also many of their other clients as well). I will therefore have to look for a different venue. It’s very disappointing that this company is forced to change their business practices for no real reason (especially in this economic climate) the knock on effect this could have on their business and also their clients because of a change in legislation. Sueco have been doing this for 6 years without problems or complaints, to take this marquee away from them in this manner beggars belief. Why do you have to do this to a caring, creative family run business

Comments: My daughter has organised for her wedding reception to be at the Icart site next year in August and we would be deeply disappointed if the planning permission was not granted. We have many family and friends coming from the UK and abroad to the wedding and would like to show Guernsey at its best which the Icart site does superably with its breathtaking, stunning views.

Comments: Dear Sue and Peter We are so appalled to hear about your blight and whole heartedly support your business at Icart, which has given so many people so much pleasure. I recently attended a WRVS tea event at your marquee, which I thoroughly enjoyed due in the main part for your expertise with all the arrangements, which were very professionally carried out for the afternoon. Our support is very strong that you should be allowed to continue operating at the Icart site. Sheila and David Le Lievre

Comments: We live in the vicinity and have suffered no nuisance, also it is clearly unacceptable to interrupt a commercial operation in the middle of a season when no action has been taken for something of the order of five years
