History sold to the lowest bidder. Thats what happened to Newfoundland in 1949, and the country of Canada has preyed on this province for almost 50 years.
Roped into Confederation and hauled into a Selfish Upper Canada for fear of loosing the best Fishery resources in the world to the United States., we were pulled into a Welfare Trap that would last forever, as payment to a Country who really didnt want us to being with.
Newfoundlanders were known not to leave anything to chance, but we were blinded with Propaganda of Faith in Confederation, and it was our Biggest Mistake. Tough times are very evident in Newfoundland and Labrador with desperation on many kitchen tables in our rural communities. From the shores of Newfoundland to the Plains of Alberta, our province has been torn from its 500 year old roots by the Federal Government of Canada! The process of destruction that continues today at an increasing pace.
With that understanding, it is time we SUED CANADA for the following:
For the removal of our rights to utilize the natural resources in this province.
The destruction and mismanagement of sustainable, renewable Marine Resources.
For not protecting the remaining Cod Stocks from 1992 to present as indicated post Moratorium on Cod.
For the Layoff of 20,000 fisher-people in 1992, because of federal mismanagement of a Natural Resource.
For not rebuilding the Atlantic Cod Stocks, after tabling its need in Legislature.
The misuse of billions of allocated tax dollars within DFO for fisheries management and protection.
Permitting the destruction of other species like Flounder, Shrimp, Crab and Turbot.
Held responsible for the economic and emotional losses of families in Rural Communities and the mass out-migration of almost 70,000 people.
Held accountable for the Genocide of a Distinct Society in Canada.
For the unjust measures of Canadian Law, preventing residents to utilize their right to ocean resources, primarily the Cod - around the shores of Newfoundland.
For not protecting or preserving the rights, cultures, traditions, history, or future of the province since Confederation.
For having to invest into protecting Quebec's sovernity while destroying Newfoundland and Labradors place in Federation.
For lack of proper negotiations and renegotiations of the Churchill Falls agreement, which results in the failure to protect the rights of this Province and its people.
For burdening Newfoundlanders with the economic and social inequities created by federal government mismanagement and injustice of the Act of Confederation.
For the defamation of our society by other Canadian provinces and national news media, based on Government information or lack thereof.
