This petition seeks to have the clearly unfair car park ticketing system which Babergh District Council has installed in the car parks of Sudbury, Suffolk removed. They should be removed because:- they are part of an unfair system that has fined approaching a quarter of the users of the short stay car parks, mostly for simply not knowing they had to take a ticket. This has been caused by the wholly inadequate signage installed by Babergh District Council. they are part of an unfair system that flies in the face of the people of Sudbury’s expressed desire for totally free car parking, they restrict our use of the car parks because the system is poorly implemented, they bring our town into disrepute because the ticketing regime unfairly penalises visitors who know nothing of the ticketing system and also because the ticketing system iconises the poor regard Babergh District Council has for its obligation to be fair and evenhanded in its treatment of the public it exists to serve. If you agree with any of the assertions above AND BELIEVE THAT THE CAR PARK TICKETING MACHINES SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM SUDBURY'S CAR PARKS please sign this petition.
