Whereas:

1 - Utah House investigators have shown John Swallow and Jason Powers raised more than $452,000 through Powers’ nonprofit, and that

2 – they funneled the money through a series of a minimum of five (5) Powers controlled nonprofits to “cover their tracks”, and that

3 - John Swallow, Jason Powers and Jessica Fawson then attempted to hide their knowledge and complicity via false public statements to Utah media; and that

4 - Powers used these funds in scathing TV and radio attack ads against Swallow’s opponent's, then publicly denied any connection to the attack ads, and that

5 - It appears Powers had the same method of operation used in additional races, and that

6 - John Swallow, Jason Powers, and Jessica Fawson have not cooperated with the Utah House investigators; and that

7 - In order to get subpoenaed testimony from John Swallow, Jason Powers, and Jessica Fawson the Utah House would have to re-establish authority to the House investigators to continue their investigation, re-issue subpoenas, and take sworn testimony;

THEREFORE:

1 - As citizens of Utah, we call on the Utah legislature to proceed with re-authorization for the House investigators to continue their investigation, re-issue subpoenas, and take sworn testimony; from Jason Powers, Jessica Fawson, and John Swallow; and furthermore that

2 - The scope of authority granted to the House investigators be expanded to include looking for similar patterns of illegal behavior on the part of Jason Powers and Jessica Fawson whenever they have worked jointly on behalf of ANY and ALL other candidates.
