PETITION TO IMPLEMENT A STUDY HALL AT SOUHEGAN HIGH SCHOOL We, the undersigned, believe that Souhegan High School should implement a study hall session during a proposed x block for the 2013-2014 school year to benefit the students. Many students are involved in sports or extracurricular activities. Having a study hall would help these students lessen the amount of time spent on work at home and the stress that homework brings. It would also provide students with more family time or time to relax. Todd McAtee, an American history teacher at Shawnee Mission East High School in Kansas, states that study halls, “…re-emphasize importance of academics…” By re-emphasizing this, grades will start to improve. Study hall would help every student, as it would give them time to work on homework or projects, and it would give them time to catch up on late work.
