Large companies will be welcomed and entrepreneurs and start-up companies will be nurtured. New products and new companies will be created to stimulate economic growth and solve today's critical challenges, many with national and global significance. We can do it!Flag

I wish that Mr. Jones in Charleston and Mr. Mullen in South Charleston come to the realization of the importance of this issue and set aside their petty political arguments and stop putting road blocksFlag

This is the perfect time because nothing will get any cheaper! Time to lead the pack and keep this resource open to researching how to make coal clean and EVERYONE wins!Flag

Where else would we find a place for laboratories such as ours then where we are now? It's essential we continue to support business and job growth in the state of WV. Save the Tech Park!Flag

Name: Tom Heywood on Feb 8, 2010Comments: I believe that the future of the Technology Park will define the future of the Kanawha Valley. If we do things right, the best days of the Tech Center are ahead of us. If we squander this opportunity, the Tech Center will become just another office park over the next 15 years or so. During the second half of the 20th Century, the Tech Center attacted world class talent, and created incrediible opportunity and prosperity across our region. The potential to do the same in the first half of the 21st Century is at least as great. We must seize and not squander this unique opportunity.Flag

As the state's institutions of higher education graduate increasing numbers of scientists, facilities such as the Dow site offer opportunities for our graduates to stay in West Virginia. Name: George Bernath on Feb 9, 2010Comments: I worked for Union Carbide at the Technical Center for thirteen years. The scientists and technicians there made many important discoveries that continue to improve our daily lives. It would be great to see Matric and similar research organizations take root at the Tech Center and make discoveries that can only be imagined. Without a Tech Center these discoveries will be out of reach.Flag

Name: J. Kevin Elkins on Feb 9, 2010Comments: It is extremely inportant that the South Charleston Technical Center remain 'open for business', as it has for over 40 years. The currently employment at the site simply can not be ignored - it is SO important to the individuals & their contribution to the economy of the Kanawha Valley. Of course it is a 'hassle' to the the State to find the time & resources to complete the deal with Dow, but a 'hassle' that MUST be overcome to maintain ( and utimately increase) the valuble scientific employment it represents. Do the right thind, regardless of short term thinking, and keep the Tech Center strong!!!Flag

The Tech Park occupants have made a great start in building a research center in the greater Charleston area. Let's not throw this opportunity away. Fairmont visionaries are getting it done with their research park; they've proved it can be done. Please help with this important project.Flag

Name: Ronald L. Belcastro, P.E. on Feb 9, 2010Comments: My name is Ron Belcastro. I am a registered professional engineer who is fortunate to work with MATRIC. I would not have had the opportunity to return to West Virginia and work with this great organization without the presence of professionals who understand the importance of keeping and retaining both the talent and facilities contained in the south Charleston Technology Park. I witness the groundbreaking research being perfomed at MATRIC, and am sure the State of West Virginia will reap an immense return to both the State and Nation by investing in this jewel of the Kanawha Valley and State of West Virginia. Please make the right decision - keep the South Charleston Technology Park. Thank You...Ron Belcastro, P.E.Flag
