Name: Daisy Shaw on May 10, 2012Comments: The lights need to be switched back on NOW. What happened to putting the people's safety first? It's absolutely ridiculous - this attack should never have happened. The council can't go back in time and change it, but they CAN stop this (or something worse) from happening again in the future. TURN THE LIGHTS BACK ON NOW!Flag

Name: Ciaran Brown on May 10, 2012Comments: As much as my eye finds it more aesthetically pleasing to walk home in half the amount of light to which we are usually subjected, and that too much street lighting can prove to be an astronomical interference, I completely see Harriet's point of view. I was the victim of an attempted mugging back in November 2011. Fortunately, I managed to get away unharmed and the degenerates involved didn't manage to get anything. Sufficient light proved a valuable asset in my escape, as well as describing my attackers to the police. In this day and age, adequate street is almost essential, not only for public safety, but to help to deter criminals from carrying out such offences. This petition is most definitely supporting a worthwhile cause and I am proud to say I've supported it. CFlag
