Comments: If Strathclyde Police Pipe Band will be reduced, a big & important part of the Pipe Band spirit will be gone.. I saw them in concert last November here in Germany and I am very shoked about the bad news !! This is one of the most famous, innovative and leading Pipe Bands in the world, we are not talking about a soccer team from the neighbourhood.. This band is famous about everywhere a bagpipe is played..

Comments: This is the year of the Homecoming - less to come home to! More and more pipe bands of high calibre are appearing outside Scotland - how ironic that those in Scotland are disapppearing.

Comments: It is really a shame that again something of such significant culture significance is under attack. The Strathclyde Police Pipe Band is truly an international ICON of Scottish culture and of the Scottish nation as a whole--it is also a band that other bands around the world use to mark themselves against. Comments: The arbitrary decision to virtually abolish this Pipe Band without prior warning or consultation with the police and civilian volunteer members is an insult to them and nothing short of a disgrace. This displays poor judgement and reflects very badly upon Strathclyde Police.

Comments: As a retired police officer, I think it is absolutely disgusting that a band which has served the community for over a century has been closed without notice on the say of one individual with a grudge. Strathclyde Police Pipe Band has been in existence for exactly 116 years carrying out limitless charitable and community minded work. The person responsible for this will be gone in a matter of months.
