Give Us A Break -- Put Stossel on the Case!

For a couple of years now, people have been arguing about the issues behind the Iraq phase of the War on Terrorism. The problem is, ultimately, we're all talking out of our hats. We don't know much of anything, since all of our news sources aren't trusted by the other side.

What is the answer? ABC News should assign the one reporter both sides will trust to report the truth to investigate the background of the invasion of Iraq: JOHN STOSSEL. Stossel made a name as an investigative reporter with his "Give Me a Break!" series of consumer reports on ABC, and has since turned to more substantive issues of national interest. Stossel's just the man to dig up the answers to these critical questions:

1) Did the Hussein Regime have any connection to al-Qaeda,
of any kind, prior to 9/11, and if so, what was it?
2) Were there weapons of mass destruction under the control
of the Hussein Regime:
a) prior to our announcing our intentions to invade?
and
b) at the time of our invasion?
3) If the answer to 2a or 2b above is "yes", then:
a) Do we have any idea where they are now?
and
b) Did they pose a threat to U.S. interests?
and
c) Do they currently pose a threat to U.S. interests?

Just getting the answers to these questions would go a long way towards putting to rest a contentious issue dividing America. Signing this petition will send a message to David Westin (President of ABC News) and to John Stossel himself: Give Us a Break – Put Stossel on the Case!

Hopefully, we will have enough concerned citizens to get them to air the report before next year's primary elections.
