In May I began being stalked by an ex of my fiancee. I went to my police department, Chamblee Police Department and filed complaints after she tried to gain entrance to the gate of my apartment complex. She returned later looking for his vehicle with a threat of vandalism and a warrant was sworn for her. She made arrangements with the investigator Sgt. Ford of Chambleepd, to turn herself in the following week. She continued and forwarded my fiancee an email sent to her from Sgt. Ford when I opened the email all of my information, police reports, notes, emails, basically his entire investigative file was attached. We went to him and he apologized citing a mistake and promised he would pick her up on the warrant which she was supposed to answer about a week and a half previous. Only after she exposed him did he make good on the warrant and got her within hours that same day. I believed his claim of a mistake until there was an attempted robbery and she sent us text messages about the break in. There were 2 more attempted breakins and an explicit craigslist ad outlining my address, phone number and a false desire to meet men. Strangers showed up at my door and I had to call the police all weekend for incidents. I went to the chief and without a formal investigation he concluded that his officer did nothing wrong he's protected under the Open Records Act. He even went so far as to pull my fiancee's background and give me the details concerning a domestic violence case he had with the stalker in another county. He had absolutely no concern for our safety or well being so I went to the Attorney Solicitor's office that was prosecuting the case. We ended up breaking our lease and moving because of his so called mistake and he wont even take accountability. On 9/20 I reached out to my leaders and asked for an investigation of Sgt. Ford and filed a complaint against Chief Johnson for racial profiling and discrimination. Even after I included some ordinances that was violated in my letter he emailed me back standing by his opinion. He went further and implied that we weren't following up on our claims because we didnt go to an additional warrant hearing but Sgt. Ford and the defendant were there, Big Surprise right. The state has our case and we have been working with them and I dont trust Sgt. Ford so I asked for him to be recused because of his so called mistake. Keep in mind that at the time I was a resident of Chamblee, Dekalb County and the defendant resides in Fulton County, yet Sgt. Ford went out of his way to accomodate her. Chief Johnson dismissed me and my concerns as if I did not matter. If there was no misconduct why would he not put Sgt.Ford on a paid administrative leave pending a formal investigation Sgt. Ford gave me a weak it was a mistake and never owned up to the fact that his negligent mistake put me and my household in danger. He has never once came to me and tried to see things from my perspective or give me a genuine, heartfelt apology. All of a sudden this individual knows every detail about my life because of his mistake. There is no doubt that had I been a white middle or upper class female the outcome would be different. I want them to make him accountable. If I leave my house and hit a car in the rear because I couldn't stop in time, my negligent behavior would cause damage and I would have to be held accountable for the other party's damages and I would be cited for following too closely even though it was an accident. Because Chief Johnson tossed my concern aside without a genuine consideration I will take my fight to Washington D.C. if I have too. Join me in my for fight justice. Petition for a formal investigation to restore my faith in the justice system. If it comes back it was in fact an innocent mistake then great, but they owe me a thorough, unbiased investigation and their resistance plants even more seeds of mistrust and doubt, like they are trying to cover up police misconduct.
