V6A 4K7 | Shelters are very important interim solutions BUT the real need is for safe, well maintained and affordable housing for people in a wide range of economic situations.

m5a2l1 | I support helping all the many who are finding it increasingly difficult to afford decent housing in the city of vancouver
Lawrence | We need more creative solutions like this
Anonymous | The city has more than 30 years now of mismanaged leaky condos in the ground and Vancouver city council insists on ensuring at least another hundred or so by approving STILL more of the awful stuff. The province still REFUSES to provide a condo equivalent to the Residential Tenancy Office, so there's no chance the situation will improve. For goodness sake, put your drinks down and leave the developer-sponsored cocktail party! Real people every day (many of them former leaky condo owners) are living on our streets and Storyeum is empty. There's nothing to think about here! DO IT! Make it a shelter and get to work on providing affordable, accessible RENTAL stock!

V4M 3V1 | Any steps taken to alleviate the horrendous conditions of the homeless are valuable...here is an obvious choice.
V4Z 1B5 | This will, no doubt, be one cold winter. Many have nowhere to go to keep dry and warm. As a society I think we are all responsible to be humanitarian enough see that shelter is available to all who many need it. Storyeum has the resources needed for a public shelter; what better use could Vancouver make of it?

Anonymous | Until we have no more homeless people, any opportunity to create a new shelter must be a good idea.
V2R 5T2 | I think it would be wise to make use of a building that isn't being used to help out the homeless.
