Name: Anonymous on Oct 22, 2007Your Postal Code: V5M 2P1Comments/Ideas: Vancouver and other parts of BC are facing a deep crisis regarding homelessness and it is unconscionable that our governments fail to carry out their responsibilities to ensuring the human rights and dignity of all of our citizens. And if that isn't enough, appealing to self-interest of our governments, it will cost less to provide real options of housing than pay in other ways.Flag

Take society's failures, for a multitude of various reasons, and provide them with decent shelter. Shelter in their neighbourhood so they're not required to go searching around the city, each cold winter night , seeking a warm and dry place to sleep.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 28, 2007Your Postal Code: V5L 2K8Comments/Ideas: We need to get people off the streets, so I support this initiative, but I strongly advocate for more affordable rental housing to be built now. Shelters are not homes.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 29, 2007Your Postal Code: V5A 4S8Comments/Ideas: I went on the Homeless Walking Tour Sat. sponsored by the Carnegie Center and learned a lot about the appalling conditions of the SROs. Let's add a homeless tax to all realty sales over one million dollars and turn the money over to reliable organizations. Using Storyeum as a shelter seems like a solid short-term solution.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 5, 2007Your Postal Code: V6A 4K7Comments/Ideas: I would be happy to volunteer and help this initiative take shape. This is a brilliant idea! I cannot understand how we can be satisfied with people suffering from the cold in the streets and not do EVERYTHING in our power to stop this immediatly! This has to be the priority of all priorities!Flag
