Name: Anonymous on Sep 27, 2007Comments: PLENTY of people have had experiences with ASL whoops. Unless a person got a patent on an experience, you should get it so you can use it without fear. But I doubt there is such a thing, but you should check just to be sure. You deserve all the rights to use a sign as anyone else. Your T-shirts, etc are really selling YOU, not the sign or the story. It reminds us of how funny you are and you deserve to use that to remind us.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Sep 30, 2007Comments: Deaf own the signs, not you hearies! I cannot tell you how many times I've seen the common mistakes made with the signs PIZZA, MEET, and COFFEE. These are just a few that hearing people tend to sign wrong due to their misunderstandings of the parameters of ASL and/or because they're human and make mistakes. In my 8 years of teaching ASL, these are COMMON mistakes, no one owns them or invented them. Anyone who claims they were the first to invent this kind of mistake needs their head examined! Let's take a closer look at hearing people learning ASL over the years and you'll find many of these same mistakes made. NO one invented this. Good luck Keith... the Deafies are behind you one hundred percent!Flag
