Name: Nicholas Cox on Feb 12, 2010Comments: Its time the ruling Liberal Democrats realised they have no idea how to run a council and have really done the worst they could do for the people of Woodley. The Town council is saddled with unecessary debts and massive losses which are increasing year on year. They should be forced to resign so that action can be taken before this escalates further.Flag

Name: J S Chapman on Feb 12, 2010Comments: The exhorbitant charge to the Woodley community has been challenged in previous years but has continued unabated. How come a Woodley Band D taxpayer pays £114.65 a year yet in Earley they pay £60.77 - something is seriously wrong in Woodley.Flag

Name: R.L.Birt & P.Birt on Feb 15, 2010Comments: Woodley leisure centres and their costs have been a problem for a number of years, although I think we should retain these centres as they are a great benefit to the community, I do think it is time that we took a grip of the costs. It is not only the leisure centres that are a problem the finances as a whole for Woodley do not seem to be well managed considering that we pay the highest Council Tax charges in the Wokingham District. Mainly because it includes a Woodley Town Council charge and it is difficult to see what extra to other areas we get for the money,Flag

Name: Kate Haines on Feb 15, 2010Comments: These losses cannot continue.. As Cllr Nick Cox said at the Full Council meeting, the members responsible should do the right thing and go now. Will they? Of course not. At a recent meeting of the investments working party, one Lberal Democrat member actually said when questioned about what plans they have to pay off the Oakwood Centre loan at the end of its term, "I don't care, I probably won't be here". Responsible and working our residents? I think not and this from one of the people responsible for our Council Tax.Flag

Name: Martin Martinez on Feb 16, 2010Comments: It is becoming clear to me that the Lib Dems councillors have proved as incompetent in their management of Woodley's resources and budgets as New Labour have been in the management of the country's economy. As a resident of the Woodley area, I have had enough financial burdens to contend with in trying to support my family without now having to worry about trying to fund further council tax rises to pay for these unnecessary debts. Sensible financial management has been sacrificed on the altar of political ideology. Resignation is now the only honorable thing to do for those concerned.Flag

Name: Mike Haines on Feb 16, 2010Comments: I for one dont like living in an area were we have one of the highest levels of Council tax in the country - clearly the lions share goes to Wokingham borough, the police services also take their slice of the cake - however because of the ineptitude of the Lib Dems in Woodley the local precept is also far too high - We are all paying locally for the Lib Dems mistakes over the past years.Flag

Well i have news for them, IT'S NOT OK !!!!!! If i ran my business the way they run OUR town council then i wouldn't be in business and nether should theyFlag

It is about time that decisions were taken by people who understand the full implications of what they are signing OUR MONEY away to. This petition has not been set up a day too soon.Flag

By all means provide a service, but never at such a loss and to the detriment of the majority who do not use the facilities or wish to. In such an economic climate, wise up, ship out and leave it to those who live in the real world and can spend our money wisely.Flag

Name: Ron Selby on Mar 27, 2010Comments: The waste of taxpayers money by the Liberal Democrats as revealed in the flyer put out by Keith Baker is an utter disgrace. One wonders how £80,000 was lost in an investment company? Was there any connection between council members and this invertment company? If so then surely this ammounts to misapropriation of public funds.Flag
